~Reach for the Top~

As I was sitting at my desk on yesterday my mind wandered off to mountain climbing and I realized mountain climbing can be a very dangerous and fatal sport. Especially with a mixture of inexperience, poor planning and lack of sufficient equipment. To be successful, an individual would need someone that is well trained and experienced before attempting their first climb.

As I started looking a little more into mountain climbing I started to think about life of a Christian. Just as a mountain climber, Christians must be properly equipped on this walk. It is very important that one seeks guidance from an experienced leader that has experience and training for this new walk. Also, it is important to know what is involved and one would learn that by researching their Creator. Being a Christian is not always an easy task, depending on your season; it can be a real challenge, because even in making the decision of a new walk there are times you will want to give up.

There are many Christians that do not succeed, just like a mountain climber, due to lack of equipment and strength. One must become familiar with the main focus of this walk because it is very likely to become faced with many different challenges and if not in shape and not fully equipped it is possible to start feeling weak and fall. As Christians we tend to feel we can sometimes do things on our own and we know exactly how things should go. We must learn to understand the importance of a leader, someone that can guide you when you need direction and push you when you want to give up. Life can be a tough mountain to climb due to the many circumstances we sometimes face, but this is why it is important we study and research so one can be fully equipped with what it takes to push though those tough moments. We must recognize that our strength comes from the Lord.

Often times we want to bring too much “gear”.  Gear can sometimes be associates or friends that are sometimes extra baggage for this journey. It is not always noticed but sometimes friends can carry many distractions, unnecessary problems and selfish attitudes that can cause you to stumble and fall. Even in the animal kingdom, the higher up the mountain you go the lower the population gets. The same is true in our lives, the higher you go the lonelier it can get. The very friends that tried to follow and even wanted to follow did not have enough strength, stamina, and/or gear to go any higher. It is during this time you begin to realize that the horizontal relationships are no longer as important as your vertical relationship with the ONE above that will continue to pour strength into you as you strive to reach the top.  As you start to look back you will begin to recognize that you could not have done this alone which gives you an inner excitement to keep striving. So as you take that last look at your past it is now time to say good bye and move forward. No matter how hard the climb may get, don’t give up until you reach the top.

dying to Self (Facebook)

When you are forgotten, or neglected, or purposely set at naught and you don't sting and hurt with the insult or the oversight, but your heart is happy, being counted worthy to suffer for Christ, THAT IS DYING TO SELF.

When your good is evil spoken of, when your wishes are crossed, your advice disregarded, your opinions ridiculed, and you refuse to let anger rise in your heart, or even defend yourself, but take it all in patient loving silence, THAT IS DYING TO SELF.

When you lovingly and patiently bear any disorder, any irregularity, any unpunctuality, or any annoyance; when you can stand face to face with waste, folly, extravagance, spiritual insensibility, and endure it as Jesus endured it, THAT IS DYING TO SELF.

When you are content with any food, any offering, any clothing, any climate, any society, any solitude, any interruption by the Will if God, THAT IS DYING TO SELF.

When you never care to refer to yourself in conversation, or to record your own good works, or itch after commendation, when you can truly love to be unknown, THAT IS DYING TO SELF.

When you can see your brother/sister prosper and have their needs met, and can honestly rejoice with him/her in spirit and feel no envy nor question God, while your own needs are far greater and in desperate circumstances, THAT IS DYING TO SELF.

When you can receive correction and reproof from one of less stature than yourself, and can humbly submit inwardly as well as outwardly, finding no rebellion or resentment rising up within your heart, THAT IS DYING TO SELF.

Are you dead yet? In these last days the Spirit would bring us to the Cross. "That I may know Him being made comfortable to His death."

♥Trapped In His LOVE♥

Sitting today thinking about the love of God and the spirit began to speak….I want my people to be “TRAPPED” in my love. As I pondered on this, I began to think of a mouse and how it wanders from room to room tearing up things just to find that piece of cheese. In a home there is always that one place where a trap is set for that mouse to get trapped in with that block of cheese after destroying all the other places.

We as people we wander from place to place trying to find love but we look in all the wrong places. By the time we have found what we have been looking for and needing we cannot fully enjoy it because we have allowed worldly things to strip us from our true identity of who we really are. We take all these different avenues and interfere with what God wants to do for us. We are looking for love in fame, money, beauty, men, women, material things, people, music, etc. But God is that one place where you can be trapped because He knows it is the ONE place you can have everything your heart desires in the midst of all the pain life can throw at you.

God knows that once we are trapped in His love we can no longer drift into the dangers of life. His love protects us in so many different ways. This is a love so powerful it offers joy in the midst of pain, healing when we are hurt and so much more. The bible says that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and therefore we should cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. So we can no longer give the enemy the privilege of stripping away our value. God’s purpose is to give you a rich and satisfying life. He has the best trap and it will always be the “TRAP” of love.

John 10:9 (NIV)….. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.

Romans 2:4 (NIV)….Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance

A God of JOY

After reading last night I laid and really realized that even in the Christian life there are still many ups and downs. The reality of choosing to live a life like Christ is that there will be some challenging times. Even myself I sometimes get puzzled, annoyed, dampen to where I realize my joy is gone.

God said that sometimes these trials are there to develop godly character in our lives. So when you face a trial in your life don’t always look at it as the enemy, a punishment, a curse, but something that prompts rejoicing. Trials are there to produce joy. Not a joy that is mixed with sorrow pain and unhappiness but pure joy. Never give situations or circumstances an opportunity to rob you of your joy whether it be people, school, kids, the future , the past, the solution is to abide and be obedient to God’s word. This is why it is very important to remain close to God if we want to share this kind of Joy that comes from our father in Heaven.

It is a choice…Joy can be made so real when you choose to live in Gods joy. Surround yourself with those friends that will uplift you when you are going through major trouble to keep you on the right path. Even Jesus needed friends which is why fellowship is important. He did not intend on you having to go through the struggles in life alone. There will be circumstances that try and shake your faith people will try and discourage you and several other things there to distract you from what God truly wants you to enjoy. I am here to tell you again that God sometimes uses trouble to teach us to trust Him completely so even when things look terrible just TRUST. Be confident in your God your prayers knowing that everything will turn out just the way God promised.

John 15:10-11. "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

Galatians 5:22-23. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."

feeling unworthy??

There will be times in life when you may feel unworthy BUT always know that God loves you and He is waiting to give you a transformation that will change every area of your life. There is ALWAYS a cost when seeking a new lifestyle but I pray that God encourages your heart today with a new vision for your life. DO NOT GIVE UP...It is time to seek NEW BEGINNINGS!

The Fight Within "ME"

As I woke up this morning I was thinking about this new journey that I am about to begin. Blogging? Are people going to really like what I share? Will my transparency be too much? What about all the commas, quotations and all the other writing techniques that I don't have? I continued to ask myself these questions because I have always had a battle with self-esteem and that would mess with my confidence. If one thought crossed my mind that people would not approve I would quickly take a step back and say nevermind. I always remind myself that the person that equips me with everything I will ever need is my Heavenly Father but does that mean those fleshly thoughts go away? NO.... This is the fight within me.

There are many beginnings locked inside of me that I never let come into perfect use because I would always stop at the sound of, "you can't do it." The world is sometimes intimidating BUT someone reminded me that God gives us different gifts and stories to reach different people(Imani). I already have what I need but in order for me to perfect what I have I must put these things into practice. Often I ask myself, why is it that we let worldy opinions stop us from doing the things that can help us reach GREATNESS? This is the fight and I am pretty sure I am NOT the only one that deals with it but its time for me to conquer it.

I have built a forever relationship with the Father and as I look to Him for guidance this fight will soon be over. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-disciplne." (2 Timothy 1:7)

"spiritual heart"

I am now in a place where I crave for a heart that fears God and His judgement against ALL sin. the heart that's faithful with a trusting attitude in God and His word. A heart that is UNCOMPROMISING with a commandment guided strong conscience. I have grown to understand that having a heart like this will produce in me a CHRIST-like behavior that will ALWAYS bear the fruit of GOD's LOVE...My desire is to have a SPIRITUAL HEART
